We are all about rhythm, rocking out to great music with great friends, and love dancing as much as we love our country.”
BailaAfrika is run by a husband and wife team, Edd and Tash Wyatt. Classes are held every Monday for Kizomba and Wednesday for Cuban Salsa. They also hold workshops occasionally on Saturday afternoons, and events and parties throughout the year.
Lessons are one hour each, held from 7pm to 9pm.

Will also dabble in Bachata and are growing into Kizomba – so be sure to come to class and find out all you need to know.
Salsa is a very free way of dancing – only a few rules to be followed – and the beat of the drums in the music is invigorating – a passion for life!”

“Thabo Moloto, the founding Director, was introduced to Salsa in 1997 when he was sixteen. He now dances L.A & Cuban salsa styles. After high school in 2000, he enrolled in a SA Ballroom Dance Teacher’s training program and learned from South Africa’s top coached. He has taught and danced competitively for 8 years while still enjoying Salsa on the side.
One of Thabo’s greatest honours was when he was asked to feature as a professional coach and performer on SABC’s season 2&3 hit TV show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. In February 2007 Come Salsa dance school was founded. Thabo has choreographed and performed in over 100 shows local and internationally.
The aim of Come Salsa is always to teach fun and increase the standards of dancing in Johannesburg. With Thabo Moloto’s extensive experience, Come Salsa has quickly become a leading organization in the best Salsa Social Parties and lessons. One of the stronges qualities of the school is its ability to liberate dancers through technique and style, so they can have the freedom to express how they feel about the music.”
“In 2013 a group of three friends who happened to share a love of salsa decided to shake up the Johannesburg salsa scene by providing the dancers of Jozi with fresh new parties to look forward to, based on the superb venues and an intention to play the very best salsa music. At the same time the group saw the need to attract as many new dancers to the community as possible, by keeping their parties free-of-charge and therefore accessible to everyone. After the success of their first initiative, the Lamunu Twilight Salsa parties, the group rebranded as “Ahora Si!” in 2015 and launched the Underground Mambo parties, which have proven even more popular with Jozi’s dancers. Going forward, the Ahora Si crew aims to keep coming up with innovate ways to invigorate both their events, as well as the salsa scene in Jozi more generally.”
Ahora Si! is a Spanish expression that means “Now this is more like it!”
A diverse group of passionate people sharing their love of dance to one and all. Passionate about Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba but to name a few.

At the Russian School of Ballet (RSB), our goal is to instill a love of dance by helping each student achieve his or her unique ballet dream – recreationally or professionally. We offer classes for boys and girls, from age three through pre-professional training.
All of RSB’s highly-qualified instructors employ the Vaganova ballet method, which has been refined in Russia over 300 years and produced many of the world’s finest classical dancers. Each level in this comprehensive program is a building block. Students train in a scientifically structured, safe, and nurturing way, respecting their unique anatomy, and physical & cognitive development.
While not all students will pursue a career in classical ballet, we know that the artistry, discipline, grace, confidence, and healthy habits they develop at RSB will remain with them for a lifetime, and enhance their performance in other areas of their lives.
RSB students are offered numerous performance opportunities, and regularly participate in professional productions, eisteddfods, and prestigious competitions both domestically and internationally. We are proud to acknowledge our dancers who have been accepted into a number of highly acclaimed summer programs, including the Paris Opera Ballet, Nederland’s Ballet Academy, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

The RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations. Our exams set standards in classical ballet worldwide and we are a global leader in dance education and Continuing Professional Development for dance.
The RAD started life in 1920 as the Association of Teachers of Operatic Dancing of Great Britain.
It was born out of a meeting of leading dance professionals arranged by Philip Richardson, former editor of the Dancing Times. With Adeline Genée chosen from among her peers as its first President, the Association launched its first syllabus in the same year and held its first exams in 1921.
1928 saw Queen Mary become the Association’s first patron and in 1936 it became the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) after receiving its Royal Charter from King George V. The following year, the RAD was awarded its coat of arms by the College of Arms.
You can also download The First 75 Years, an anniversary brochure published in 1995 which details our history to that point. A detailed history and chronology of the RAD will be available here shortly.
Now in our 94th year, we continue to promote and develop excellence in dance. Our syllabi are taught around the world and thousands of students are enrolled on our many dance courses and study programmes. Our alumni have gone on to work with the most prestigious dance companies and to become the best teachers. And, as part of our social responsibility remit, we continue to bring dance into a growing range of communities and schools.
Join us – become a RAD Member
By becoming a Member of the RAD you are not only joining the world’s leading dance education and training organisation: you immediately become part of a worldwide network of people connected through their passion for dance.

Pole Dancing and Sensual Fitness
Pole dancing not only tones and helps you to lose weight, but the strength you build will give you a stronger core, stronger heart muscles and give your body the best workout ever.
About Pole Dancing
Most women today still want to know what it is about pole that gives you a great body and confidence, and the best way to explain it is through explaining who women work.
As little girls we wanted to be told how pretty and special we were. The problem is that there is nowhere in society where you can learn that. There is no ‘grooming school’ for being special. As we grow up, we may learn that there is a way to attract attention, but it is the wrong kind of attention.
Women move their bodies in different ways to men. They are more flowing and move in a circular shape, whereas men are more mechanical and focus on one body part at a time – their movement is an up-and-down motion.
Most of the fitness forms available today are focused on male movement. Gyms have excercise machines that target specific body parts and are purely mechanical in nature. This is one of the main reasons why a lot of women find gym to be extremely boring.
Pole dancing by nature is a form of dance, incorporating the whole body in a flowing, female movement. But because you need to hold your whole body up with your hands, legs or other body parts, it is an extremely effective way of building muscles fast, which enables you to lose weight fast.
The nature of the movements work with the flow of the female body, and so the mind and the body are working together, rather than disengaging. This is what leads to the confidence, and this is why we are called Body-Mind studios.
About BodyMind Studios
South Africa’s premier pole dance studio, BodyMind Studios has 3 studios based in Johannesburg.
BodyMind Studios was founded by Natasha Williams in 2004. After many years of dancing as a showgirl, she wanted to share her knowledge and how she got her confidence and a great body through they type of movements that she learnt through dance and specifically pole dancing.
